TANABATA: LET’S MAKE A WISH!
Tanabata・七夕 is a very important festival for the Japanese and takes place on the 7th of July every year, the day Orihime・織姫 and Hikoboshi・彦星 (characters from Japanese mythology; now names of stars) are fabled to meet. To celebrate their celestial meeting, people write wishes on colourful paper called Tanzaku・短冊 and hang them from bamboo branches. It is believed that doing so would make those wishes come true.
